Problem with a Video Device Driver <--click the link
I know I should have posted this in the Video Cards subtopic of this forums category but I get quicker responses here in the General area. So mods, if you would insist on transfering this topic to a more appropriate location, you may do so.
Anyway, just a few days ago i started experiencing this really annoying problem, (I guess whenever my screensaver starts up - im using Bliss screensaver). My screen freezes up. and then i have to wait for a minute or to for my PC to restart automatically. And when i log in i get a window saying "Windows has recovered from a fatal error...." the usual send error report buttons are present and Microsoft returns an error message saying there is a problem with my display driver... could anybody help me with this. I am using NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 as my display hardware. Should i update the driver? I already disabled Graphics acceleration and uncheck "Enable write combining." as per microsoft's suggested solution but i really would like to make full use of my PC's hardware acceleration feature, for obvious reasons (I am using windowblinds per pixel but I stopped using it when this problem started to pester me). Help me please. This has never happened before with my older PC.
